I recently worked on the redesign for Campus Life, a WebMD publication for college kids. The redesign goals were: 1/ Use existing fonts in a modern + bold way 2/ Elevate the photography (which is primarily stock) by using filters, gradients, and flat colors... all while staying within a tight budget and 3/  C O L O R

I just did a website redesign, and I'm in the process of posting everything I've been working on for the last 8 months or so. It's almost been a year since I went full-time freelance - it really flew by! Here are some layouts I did for Harper's Bazaar recently:

Some new work I did at O magazine, for the August issue. This quiz package is filled with tons of games and flow charts... also a tear-it-out and make-it-yourself fortune teller! I commissioned the lovely paper illustrator Hattie Newman to take my ideas/sketches/ridiculous mockups and turn them into colorful 3-D paper illustrations. I'm loving how this collaboration turned out! I always jump at the chance to include paper art in an editorial layout:

Paper Art by Hattie Newman. Spot illustrations by Mikey Burton.

And here are a few layouts from the July issue. The first one is a story with health tips about barbecuing, and the following layout is a still life featuring fitness gear.
